Dear Rt. Hon. Eugene Okechukwu Dibiagwu, I write from Agwa Town this 20th day of June, 2026, with humility and the highest regard for your office as our representative in the Federal House of Representatives, and as a father figure and respected elder statesman. First, I wish to sincerely thank you for your service and for the efforts you have made thus far on behalf of our people. Leadership is never an easy task, and every genuine effort made in the interest of the people deserves recognition. My reason for writing this open letter is to respectfully remind you of a promise you made to the people of Agwa on December 30, 2025, at Obudi Agwa Central School Field during the 2025 Agwa Day Celebration, where you served as Chairman of the occasion. Your presence at that event did more than honour the invitation of our people; it rekindled hope in the hearts of many of us who had become discouraged by years of unfulfilled promises from political leaders. I was among those who listened attentively as you delivered your message of hope to the Agwa people. In your speech, you openly acknowledged that certain political calculations had not worked in our favour and expressed your dissatisfaction that Agwa had not benefited as much as it should from your representation. More importantly, you assured us that before December 2026, the people of Agwa would be able to drive home on a dual carriageway from Ejemekwuru to Agwa. Sir, that statement was more than a political promise. It was a message of hope, reassurance, and healing. It touched the very core of our aspirations and renewed our belief that Agwa remains an important part of Imo State and deserving of development and government attention. Today, June 20, 2026, leaves us with barely five months before December. It is therefore with utmost respect that I ask: Will Agwa once again be left with disappointment, or will this become the defining legacy that immortalizes your name in our land? History remembers leaders not merely for the offices they held but for the promises they fulfilled. While we appreciate the various interventions and contributions attributed to your representation, I dare say that the completion of the Ejemekwuru–Agwa Road project as promised would stand as a landmark achievement that generations of Agwa people will remember. It would not only ease transportation and improve economic activities; it would restore confidence in leadership and prove that public promises can still be redeemed. I write solely in my personal capacity as a concerned son of Agwa who desires progress for our people. My earnest prayer is that this message reaches your good office and receives your thoughtful consideration. May Almighty God continue to bless you, grant you wisdom in leadership, and give you the strength and courage to fulfil this promise for the benefit of our people.
