Deaconess Barinaoo Deekor Daniel Dies at 63, Burial Scheduled for September 5

NEWBIARE, GOKANA LGA, RIVERS STATE — The family of the late Deaconess Barinaoo Deekor Daniel has announced the death of their beloved mother, grandmother, wife, mother-in-law, sister and friend, who passed away on July 4, 2026, at the age of 63.
Deaconess Daniel, a resident of Newbiera in Gokana Local Government Area of Rivers State, was a devoted Christian and faithful member of the Assemblies of God Church. According to the family, she remained committed to her Christian faith and worshipped God faithfully throughout her lifetime.
Her death has left a deep void among her children, extended family members, relatives and the Christian community, who are mourning the loss of a woman remembered for her devotion to God and her place within the family.
The family described her passing as painful and deeply sorrowful, as relatives and loved ones prepare to bid her farewell and celebrate the life she lived.
Deaconess Daniel was born on February 15, 1963, and died on July 4, 2026, aged 63 years. Her remains are scheduled to be laid to rest in Gokana Local Government Area of Rivers State on Saturday, September 5, 2026.
According to the burial arrangements released by the family, the funeral activities will commence at 7:00 a.m. on Saturday with the body leaving Belk Sympathy Mortuary Khana for Biara, Gokana Local Government Area.
At 8:00 a.m., the body will be received by family members, followed by a lying-in-state ceremony at 8:30 a.m.
The funeral service is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. and will be conducted by the Assemblies of God Nigeria, Biara I Gokana Local Government Area, at the Apostolic Field, Biara.
Interment will take place at 12:00 noon after the funeral service.
The family will also hold a thanksgiving service in honour of the deceased on Sunday, September 6, 2026, at the Assemblies of God Church, Biara I Gokana Area.
The burial arrangements were signed by Bariyima Christopher Deekor on behalf of the family.
The death of Deaconess Daniel comes as a significant loss to those who knew and loved her. As a committed Christian, her faith remained an important part of her life, while her roles as a mother, grandmother, wife, mother-in-law, sister and friend endeared her to many.
Family members, friends, members of the Assemblies of God Church and well-wishers are expected to gather in Biara to pay their final respects and accompany her remains to their final resting place.
The family has called on relatives, friends, church members and sympathisers to join them during the funeral ceremonies as they mourn the passing of their beloved matriarch and give thanks to God for the life she lived.
