Late Pa. Fabian Anyachokeya Alamezie: Family Announces Burial Arrangements for 90-Year-Old Patriarch

The family of Alamezie of Umuebere Umuahi, Obudi, Agwa Autonomous Community, Oguta Local Government Area of Imo State, has announced the burial arrangements for their patriarch, Late Pa. Fabian Anyachokeya Alamezie, popularly known as Egbuwaofia, who died at the age of 90.
According to the funeral announcement released by the family, Pa. Alamezie passed away peacefully on April 23, 2026, at the age of 90. His burial programme will take place in October, with family members, relatives, friends and well-wishers expected to gather to honour his life and legacy.
The funeral activities will begin with a Christian Night Wake on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. The wake will be held at his compound in Umuaihi, Obudi, Agwa Autonomous Community, where family members and sympathisers will gather in remembrance of the deceased.
On Thursday, October 8, 2026, the body will leave Gateway Mortuary, Ogbaku, Mbaitoli Local Government Area, at 9:00 a.m. for his country home at Umuaihi, Obudi, Agwa.
A lying-in-state will subsequently be held at his compound at 10:00 a.m., allowing family members, friends and other mourners to pay their final respects.
The body is scheduled to arrive at Christ the King Catholic Parish (CKC), Obudi, Agwa, at 11:00 a.m. for the funeral Mass. The interment will take place at the family compound at 1:00 p.m., followed by refreshments.
The family will also hold an Outing Service on Sunday, October 11, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Christ the King Catholic Parish, Obudi, Agwa.
