Methodist Church of Nigeria Elects Sunday Eze as Archbishop-Elect of Okigwe Archdiocese

The Methodist Church of Nigeria has elected Rt. Rev. Sunday Eze as the Archbishop-Elect of Okigwe Archdiocese, Imo State, alongside three other Archbishop-Elects and 10 Bishop-Elects.
The elections and episcopal translations were announced as part of decisions concerning the leadership of various archdioceses and dioceses within the Methodist Church of Nigeria.
The newly elected Archbishop-Elects, in the order announced, are:
Rt. Rev. Dr. Oladapo O. Babalola — Archbishop-Elect, Ilesha Archdiocese.
Rt. Rev. Dr. Samuel R. Northey — Archbishop-Elect, Edo-Delta Archdiocese.
Rt. Rev. Dr. Otuekong Ukut — Archbishop-Elect, Calabar Archdiocese.
Rt. Rev. Sunday Eze — Archbishop-Elect, Okigwe Archdiocese.
The church also elected 10 Bishop-Elects for various dioceses.
They are:
Very Rev. Joel Baridan — Bishop-Elect, New Diocese of Taaba.
Very Rev. Attih Asuquo Ini — Bishop-Elect, Iman Ikono Ibom Diocese.
Very Rev. Emmanuel Udom — Bishop-Elect, Calabar North Diocese.
Very Rev. Prof. Konyinsola Ajayi — Bishop-Elect, Eko Atlantic Diocese.
Very Rev. Philip Adeoye — Bishop-Elect, Ode-Aiye Diocese.
Very Rev. Solomon Aasa — Bishop-Elect, Festac Diocese.
Very Rev. Amos Olalere — Bishop-Elect, Ketu West Diocese.
Very Rev. Ayo Oyadotun — Bishop-Elect, Lagos Central Diocese.
Very Rev. Tope Owolabi — Bishop-Elect, Aiyedun Diocese.
Very Rev. Kufre Abasi — Bishop-Elect, Okobo Diocese.
The Methodist Church of Nigeria also announced a number of episcopal translations involving serving bishops across different jurisdictions.
The translations are as follows:
Most Rev. Dr. Akindeko — Translation to Ifaki Archdiocese.
Most Rev. Dr. Esedeke — Translation to Bori Archdiocese.
Most Rev. C. N. Nwankpa — Translation to Port Harcourt Archdiocese.
Rt. Rev. Shetima Chibok — Translated from the North East to Sokoto.
Rt. Rev. Dr. Okechukwu Ogba — Translated from Asia Ndoki to Akwunanu.
Rt. Rev. Ekarika — Translated to New Uyo Central.
Rt. Rev. Nnam — Translated from Bori to Asia Ndoki.
Rt. Rev. Agi Jackson — Translated from Apa to Adinu.
Rt. Rev. Dr. Ekebuisi — Translated to Aba East Diocese.
Rt. Rev. Matthew Falade — Translated from Idanre to Lagos North.
Rt. Rev. Gbøyega Ohu — Translated from Lagos North to Remo Diocese.
Rt. Rev. Jacob M. B. Ibikunle — Translated from Remo to Trinity Council.
Rt. Rev. Basil Ponzolin — Translated to Iwo Diocese.
Rt. Rev. Omisakin — Translated to Osogbo Diocese.
The appointments and translations are expected to bring new leadership responsibilities to the affected archdioceses and dioceses as the Methodist Church of Nigeria continues its episcopal administration.
Further details on the dates and arrangements for the formal installation and assumption of office of the Archbishop-Elects and Bishop-Elects are expected to be communicated by the church.
