Security forces in the early hours of Friday, June 26, 2026, successfully neutralized a substantial number of armed bandits during a tactical operation in Kangiwa village, Kebbi State.
The operation, carried out by security personnel, targeted criminal elements believed to have been terrorizing communities in the area. The successful mission is seen as part of ongoing efforts to combat banditry and restore peace in the region.
Reacting to the development, security expert Aribo Usman commended the Nigerian security forces for the successful operation, describing it as a significant step in the fight against insecurity.
He said more coordinated operations of this nature are needed to rid the country of armed banditry and other forms of insecurity.
According to Usman, the Federal Government should invest more in intelligence gathering through collaboration with local communities while strengthening rapid response teams to improve security operations nationwide.
