Chief Sir Celestine Ajuzieugo Chinedu Njoku, KSC (Ogburu Uzo I of Mbutu), who died at the age of 94.
The visit comes ahead of the burial of the deceased, scheduled for Thursday, April 30, 2026, in Aronta, Aboh Mbaise Local Government Area of Imo State.

Speaking during the visit, Barr. Chudi Egwe Evans, an Obiakpu-born philanthropist and education enthusiast, urged the former governor to take solace in the impactful life lived by his late uncle.

As it is humanly good and scripturally to mourn with those who mourn and celebrate with those who celebrate, we are here to identify with you as my leader, our leader, in these difficult times to say sorry for your loss. We pray that God give you the heart to bear the loss and encourage the larger family of Ihedioha and Njoku,” he said.
Responding, Ihedioha expressed appreciation for the visit and the show of support from Barr. Chudi and his team, described the gesture as deeply meaningful.
“I want to most sincerely thank you, Barr. Chudi and your team for these condolences. It means a lot to me and my family.
Yes, I am mourning the death of my uncle, and tomorrow, Thursday, the 30th of April, 2026 his remains will be committed to the ground. He was a special personality to the entire me and the entire family. He was a father figure, someone who stepped into the shoes of my father after his death, and since then, he has been there for every member of the family. Death is inevitable but we thank God for the life he lived. That is our consolation and we believe that God Almighty will grant his soul eternal rest. Thank you for coming and I pray for journey mercies to your destinations,” he added.
The visit concluded with a group photograph with the former governor.
